Veggie of the Month

Yesterday at the Valencia Youth Garden we celebrated Veggie of the Month.  This month we used several vegetables to make vegetable quesidillas.

1. First we picked vegetables from the garden. Ms. Denise and Reggie are picking okra.

3. Ms. Angie demonstrates how to cut the vegetables.

6. After all the vegetables are cut, it’s time to saute.

7. Ms. Angie is adding the sauted veggies to a flour tortilla.

8. Next she adds some meat.

9. She adds grated cheese, then covers with another tortilla

10. The quesidilla is ready when it has been browned on both sides. Now it’s time to cut it up.

11. The final step (before cleanup) is to add salsa and enjoy.
