If you can see your path laid out in front of you step by step, you know it’s not your path. Your own path you make with every step you take. That’s why it’s your path.-—Joseph Campbell

Opening Hearts and Minds

The only reason we don’t open our hearts and minds to other people is that they trigger confusion in us that we don’t feel brave enough or sane enough to deal with. To the degree that we look clearly and compassionately at ourselves, we feel confident and fearless about looking into someone else’s eyes.     Pema Chödron

This quote tells me I still have much work to do.

Who can I not open my heart and mind to?

Why the triggering confusion?

What is my fear?

How do I address that fear in myself?

Can I then feel confident about looking into their eyes?

  1. I just love Pema Chodron and her book, When things Fall Apart, is a bible of mine. Thanks for this reminder, for I too still have much work to do.
